SUMMARY:Soft Spot
DESCRIPTION:Soft Spot is a place to be witnessed via your words. They can be sentimental\, funny or nonsensical. The more experimental you get\, the better. It’s a no-pressure\, no-judgment environment where you’re free to express whatever you want to\, or simply listen. No experience needed. \nA non extensive list of word forms you might want to share: Instagram stories\, blog posts\, lyrics\, an acapella folk song (no instruments please)\, journal entries\, eBay watch lists\, horoscopes\, shopping lists\, emails\, cold call scripts\, voice notes (with permission from the subject obvs)\, book excerpts\, poems\, notes app rambles\, a dream you recorded\, unsent letters\, sent letters\, news headlines\, birthday card messages\, a well crafted text\, comedy sketches\, spoken word\, instructions\, reddit feeds\, your pets vet record…. \nIf you’d like to share\, add your name to the hat at the start of the night; everyone who does will have a chance to read. Readers are chosen at random. Everyone is welcome\, with a special invitation to LGBTQ+ communities\, Black and Brown communities\, and other underrepresented groups. \n– Please arrive between 7:00 – 7:15 pm so we can start gently at 7:30 pm.\n– Readings happen inside the top barn (a map will be shared in an email on the day).\n– The venue is accessible via a community-made ramp; however\, there is no wheelchair accessible toilet (yet… Bridge Farm is trying to gather funding to build one).\n– Though the event is 18+\, if you have a baby under 2 years old and can’t find a babysitter\, please bring them along.\n-Tea and biscuits on tap (sometimes people bring yummy cakes to share) \nThere is an option to donate at the checkout to a local trans healthcare charity called Dandelion DIY. Visit their website to learn more about the amazing work they do. https://dandeliondiy.com/ \nIf the ticket cost is a barrier\, please don’t hesitate to reach out at kim.dobney@yahoo.co.uk for a free ticket; no one turned away due to lack of funds. \nEntry requirements: 18+

SUMMARY:Feral Feasts
DESCRIPTION:Feral Feasts is finally back after one year\, this time to celebrate Samhain – a seasonal threshold where the nights draw in as we begin to hunker down for the cosier months ahead – a time that’s always been for community feasting 🔥 \nTo dive even deeper into the lost traditions that have inspired Feral Feasts\, we will be showcasing a fully Celtic inspired menu\, drawing on recipes with centuries-old roots embedded across the cuisines of the WISE isles (Wales\, Ireland\, Scotland & England). Think hearty\, rustic and decadent with a modern twist. \nAnd of course as ever we will also be weaving ingredients from the local landscape that is bursting with produce – wild and cultivated – whilst striving to champion Bristol’s local growers and producers. \nIn Gaelic tradition as far back as the 10th century\, Samhain (pronounced SAH-win) was a seasonal festival in Medieval Ireland and Scotland that marked the transition from light to dark – the end of the agricultural year and the beginning of winter. \nIt was seen as a liminal time\, where the boundaries between the ordinary world and the Otherworld were thinner. So it was associated with spirits and supernatural encounters – which birthed the roots of some of the popular customs we now associate with Halloween. \nThis was also a time of year when gathering and feasting in community would have been vital for the health and morale of those bracing for winter in the northern hemisphere. Feral Feasts believes that this is as important now as it was then and this is why we started this project. \nSo come\, join us around the table and let’s feast our way into the winter together 🔥 \nP.s. Wear your best fancy spooky attire 💃 \nTimetable \n7pm: On arrival\, a homemade alcoholic welcome drink awaits you — a hearty seasonal brew infused with the local landscapes offerings. \n*Additional drinks will be available to purchase throughout the evening.* \n7.30pm: Once everyone has settled in\, enjoy your drinks alongside a selection of local artisan breads and pickles served at the table ahead of the feast. \n8.15pm – 9.45pm: Prepare for the main event — a three-course Celtic inspired feast designed to showcase the season’s offerings in all their glory and explore the historical food traditions of the UK with a modern twist. \n*Full menu will be released closer to the event.* \n10pm: Time to make your way home and sink gently into your post-feast slumbers. \n*For the main course\, there will be both a wild meat option and a fully plant-based option. All other courses will be vegetarian (and can be made vegan if requested in advance).* \nThere are separate tickets available for the vegetarian and meat options. \nIf you are vegan or have any other dietary requirements\, please email as soon as possible after purchasing your ticket\, or include a note with your order. \nEmail: feralfeasts@gmail.com \nInstagram: @feral.feasts \nThere will be a small selection of interesting drinks to buy. The event is also BYOB\, so please bring whatever tipple tickles your fancy. \n  \nAbout the Chef \nMy name is Luke. Over the past few years I’ve worked across a wide range of catering environments while maintaining a deep personal obsession with all things food. \nAlong the way\, I’ve developed a passion not only for cooking\, but for nature and the communal experience of eating — using food as a way to connect more deeply to the land and to one another. \nMy approach celebrates the beauty of each season’s harvest. I work with wild ingredients and local producers\, champion sustainability whenever possivle\, and explore the more overlooked corners of British food culture — while weaving in inspiration from other vibrant culinary traditions from around the world. \nFeral Feasts is the culmination of all of this — my way of sharing that passion with others through memorable evenings of food and connection. \n  \nEvent Details \n🌿 Date: Thursday 29th October 2026 \n🌿 Ticket Sales End: One week prior to the event (21/10/26) \n🌿 Arrival Time: 7pm (last arrival 7.30pm) \n🌿 End Time: 10pm \n🌿 Location: Bridge Farm\, Glenfrome Road\, BS16 1BQ \n🌿 Dress code: Fancy/ Spooky / Celtic/ Medieval \n🌿 Price: £50 with a welcome drink included\, £45 without \n🌿 Alcohol Policy: BYOB & drinks available to purchase on site \n🌿 Age: 18+ only \n🌿 Parking: Parking available on surrounding streets \n🌿 Dietary Requirements: Please email feralfeasts@gmail.com after purchasing your ticket with any dietary requirements \n
