DESCRIPTION:Discover Bristol’s secret gardens and tucked away treasures over a weekend of food-based exploration \nBridge Farm will be hosting a Long Table feast and a Volunteer Day to celebrate! \nBristol’s hidden network of gardens and growing spaces are all set to open their doors over 12th – 13th September for the 15th year of the Get Growing Trail. Taking place as the harvest begins to become bountiful\, this free weekend is filled with the opportunity to explore the lesser-known\, award-winning foodie landscape of Bristol. \nThe Get Growing Trail is run by Bristol Food Network\, who coordinates Bristol’s gold awarded Sustainable Food Place city-wide partnership\, part of Bristol Good Food 2030 alongside Bristol City Council.  \nThis year\, over 20 growing sites will be opening their doors at various times across the weekend. Visitors can choose from a range of activities to get involved with\, from helping to harvest some fresh produce a few hundred meters from the M32 flyover at Bridge Farm\, to apple pressing at Royate Hill Community orchard near Fishponds\, a nighttime bat tour through Woodcroft Community orchard in the nightingale valley or swing by the wood fired sauna whilst admiring the set-up of Hartcliffe Community Farm.  The trail offers a glimpse into the inspiring work of so many groups across the city\, paying back into nature and benefitting the whole community at the same time. \nThe Get Growing Trail is also an opportunity to find out more about how local producers are breaking with the supermarket model of production and working with their customers for a more resilient way of providing food for people every day within the city. Head to Sims Hill to gain a greater understanding of how Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) membership works\, and see their impressive\, made with love\, set up. Visit Totterdown Community Orchard to sample their range of fruit trees and berry bushes\, mainly planted 15 years ago on waste land left from 1970s house demolitions\, or the ‘Walls of Veg’ in Bristol’s’ very own rainforest\, The Bristol Rainforest\, in St Pauls.  \nExpect the unexpected\, tucked away treasures waiting to be discovered\, with activities for all ages. DESCRIPTION:We are back in the kitchen for another community long table on September 13th 2026\, 3pm-5pm as part of the Get Growing Trail at Bridge Farm. There will be a volunteer day from 11am-3pm as part of the trail\, ran by the communal growers. Volunteers are invited to stay around afterwards and feast together\, celebrating their hard work on the land! \nWe are also being supported to offer the meal this month by the amazing Landworkers’ Alliance of which we are members! Feel free to ask us any questions about the organisation and how you can get involved as a supporting member for the important work they do representing landworkers\, especially those who grow the food that support this meal! \n\nWe’ve created this form to gather an idea of how many people are likely to come and enable us to cater to people’s allergies and food needs. please do fill this form if you are wanting to come along! this will also really support us to ensure there is enough food for everyone who wants to come while minimising food waste.\n\nThe meal will be plant-based\, gluten-free and pay-what-you-can.\n\nAs people who work on the land and within the food system\, we dream of more reciprocal\, just ways of relating to the food the land provides. Because of this\, we will always buy produce from local growers and organic national wholesalers for the staples\, supplemented with produce gleaned from local farms. We believe nourishing food grown without the use of industrial chemicals should be accessible to everyone\, which is why we will always offer our meals on a pay-what-can basis – everyone should have access to food that is grown gently on the land   (:\n\nPay-what-you-can means you can always eat without any expectation to pay. We also want to invite those with greater financial privilege to pay accordingly so that we can continue to offer the meal on this basis. We will have a sliding scale on the day – showing how much the meal costs to run for those who can and wish to pay from covering the costs of the ingredients to paying the chefs a living wage. DESCRIPTION:Sick of landlords? Interested in living in community? Want to take charge of your own housing? Come get involved in a housing coop at Bridge Farm. \nWe have a six-bedroom farmhouse at Bridge Farm in the Eastville area of Bristol\, and want to establish community-led\, long term\, multigenerational and inclusive affordable housing there. \nThe building was in a terrible state of repair when we bought it in 2024\, and we are in the process of getting it structurally sound and weatherproof. DESCRIPTION:Looking for an affordable therapy that brings you back to your body and awakens your creative spirit?\n\nWelcome Radical movement and expression therapy.\n\nA 6 week course\, in an intimate cohort (9 people) where we study 10 attributes that give us way points to breaking anxious cycles\, people pleasing\, and beyond.\n\nFacilitating this course is Fern Enley\, an AudHD survivor of the American psychiatric systems and special education systems.\n\nWhilst resiliently immigrating to France\, learning a second language to obtain a diagnosis of autism as an adult; he discovered and developed this practice.\n\nBetween reading non violent communication and ayurveda\, daily journaling\, and devout deep listening; he has reached a unique system of grounding and joy despite life’s challenges.\n\nFern has ten years of experience of tutelage in music from ages 4-70! DESCRIPTION:Soft Spot is a place to be witnessed via your words. They can be sentimental\, funny or nonsensical. The more experimental you get\, the better. It’s a no-pressure\, no-judgment environment where you’re free to express whatever you want to\, or simply listen. No experience needed. \nA non extensive list of word forms you might want to share: Instagram stories\, blog posts\, lyrics\, an acapella folk song (no instruments please)\, journal entries\, eBay watch lists\, horoscopes\, shopping lists\, emails\, cold call scripts\, voice notes (with permission from the subject obvs)\, book excerpts\, poems\, notes app rambles\, a dream you recorded\, unsent letters\, sent letters\, news headlines\, birthday card messages\, a well crafted text\, comedy sketches\, spoken word\, instructions\, reddit feeds\, your pets vet record…. \nIf you’d like to share\, add your name to the hat at the start of the night; everyone who does will have a chance to read. Readers are chosen at random. Everyone is welcome\, with a special invitation to LGBTQ+ communities\, Black and Brown communities\, and other underrepresented groups. \n– Please arrive between 7:00 – 7:15 pm so we can start gently at 7:30 pm.\n– Readings happen inside the top barn (a map will be shared in an email on the day).\n– The venue is accessible via a community-made ramp; however\, there is no wheelchair accessible toilet (yet… Bridge Farm is trying to gather funding to build one).\n– Though the event is 18+\, if you have a baby under 2 years old and can’t find a babysitter\, please bring them along.\n-Tea and biscuits on tap (sometimes people bring yummy cakes to share) \nThere is an option to donate at the checkout to a local trans healthcare charity called Dandelion DIY.
