Welcome to Bridge Farm
We’re creating a new kind of community.
Bridge Farm is about Living with The Land, in Community. Old buildings are being restored for habitation and new buildings are being envisioned for truly affordable self-build housing. The earth is being slowly and sensitively worked, with trees, flowers, vegetables, fruit and animals working alongside wildlife corridors. The barns undergoing renovation provide space and place for education, gatherings and celebrations.
Land
When the site first came into community ownership in 2018, the wildlife was rampant. Brambles 8ft high, deer in the front lawn, foxes in the courtyard, rats in the house, they had begun to reclaim the whole site as theirs, buildings included!
Live
Bridge Farm began as a community-led housing project and this element is still very much at the core of the project. The existing buildings will be made habitable in the coming years and a small development of new housing along Glenfrome Road is in the works.
Community
At Bridge Farm, community is at the heart of everything. The land and barns are being developed towards and for community use. We envision a lively and bubbling neighbourhood with crafters, cookers, entertainers and educators. As renovations get underway we are expanding the spaces in which these events can happen.
