Hockerton is the original (well, 1990s) sustainable community led self-build, on agricultural land near Nottingham.
Key features of the thinking at Hockerton include use of local, natural materials, modular layouts, water treatment process, a requirement for residents to contribute time to the collective, passive heating, renewable energy systems and horticultural growing spaces. All these aspects are insightful for what we could consider for Bridge Farm.
