Feral Feasts

Feral Feasts is finally back after one year, this time to celebrate Samhain – a seasonal threshold where the nights draw in as we begin to hunker down for the cosier months ahead – a time that’s always been for community feasting 🔥
To dive even deeper into the lost traditions that have inspired Feral Feasts, we will be showcasing a fully Celtic inspired menu, drawing on recipes with centuries-old roots embedded across the cuisines of the WISE isles (Wales, Ireland, Scotland & England). Think hearty, rustic and decadent with a modern twist.
And of course as ever we will also be weaving ingredients from the local landscape that is bursting with produce – wild and cultivated – whilst striving to champion Bristol’s local growers and producers.
In Gaelic tradition as far back as the 10th century, Samhain (pronounced SAH-win) was a seasonal festival in Medieval Ireland and Scotland that marked the transition from light to dark – the end of the agricultural year and the beginning of winter.
It was seen as a liminal time, where the boundaries between the ordinary world and the Otherworld were thinner. So it was associated with spirits and supernatural encounters – which birthed the roots of some of the popular customs we now associate with Halloween.
This was also a time of year when gathering and feasting in community would have been vital for the health and morale of those bracing for winter in the northern hemisphere. Feral Feasts believes that this is as important now as it was then and this is why we started this project.
So come, join us around the table and let’s feast our way into the winter together 🔥
P.s. Wear your best fancy spooky attire 💃

About the Chef
My name is Luke. Over the past few years I’ve worked across a wide range of catering environments while maintaining a deep personal obsession with all things food.
Along the way, I’ve developed a passion not only for cooking, but for nature and the communal experience of eating — using food as a way to connect more deeply to the land and to one another.
My approach celebrates the beauty of each season’s harvest. I work with wild ingredients and local producers, champion sustainability whenever possivle, and explore the more overlooked corners of British food culture — while weaving in inspiration from other vibrant culinary traditions from around the world.
Feral Feasts is the culmination of all of this — my way of sharing that passion with others through memorable evenings of food and connection.
